Navan Town and Country Fair 2012, Navan Town County Meath Ireland, Navan Fair
The sun shinned and the crowds turned out for another successful Navan Town and Country Fair on the Bank Holiday, June 6th 2012.
It
was clear from the show of sheep, cattle, horses and fowl that County
Meath remains the Royal County for animal husbandry in Ireland.
Fine
cultural traditions such as spinning yarn, basket weaving, paintings
by local artists, and wonderfully carved furniture from fine timbers.
The
food on offer, from the pig-on-a-spit, to smoked bacon and sausage,
filled the air with the aroma of days gone-by when Ireland was a land of
self-sufficient living.
The
American Wrestlers provided a unique spectacle not seen since the days
of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks, as the good-guy and the bad-guy
battle for fame.
