Tidy Towns Awards 2012, Tidy Towns Meath, Meath Tidy Towns, Tidy Towns Winners, Meath Tourism

For the past number of weeks shoppinginmeath.blogspot.com have been inviting readers to vote by email for the best kept approach road to Navan in terms of grass cutting, litter visibility and any other aspect that may give tourists and others visitors to our capital town a good impression while on the main approach roads.

Slane Road received 509 votes, and those maintaining the Slane Road will now receive a shopping voucher for 100 Euro for Navan Garden Centre to buy flowers, shrubs or whatever else they need to keep up their good work.

Slane road is maintained by both local residents and Navan Town Council working in partnership, local residents do not receive any funding and all work is voluntary, one local resident said:

“At a time when our public services are under pressure, it is time for people to ask, what can they do for their council rather than what can their council do for them, partnership and voluntary action will help our communities to grow”.
